NATO announced the opening of NSATU (NATO Security Assistance and Training for Ukraine), the new NATO-Ukraine Command in Wiesbaden. By the end of 2022, the US European Command headquarters in Wiesbaden had a unit known as the Security Assistance Group-Ukraine (SAG-U), which had about 300 personnel. With Germany providing roughly 40 people, including Major General Hartmut Renk as the deputy commander, NATO will now deploy about 700 personnel. In addition to the SAG-U’s responsibilities, Renk clarified on Tuesday that the NSATU would also assume the responsibilities of the International Donor Coordination Centre (IDCC).
